ScanStream can be used to fill in form fields within any Windows application. (ie.Word, Excel, Etc.)
Examples:
If you wanted to record employee hours in a MS Excel spreadsheet, you could set up ScanStream to be your timeclock and accept data by scanning employee time cards. Users 'punch in/out'
by scanning their bar coded employee number. When they punch
in or out, the timestamp is written to the specified field in Excel.
When an employee punches out, the hours/minutes worked is
calculated and sent to Excel.
You could also link the productivity of the employee to her time if she had a scanner at her workstation
which could also send data to ScanStream. All of this could be configured through one simple script file.
